Antartica is nearly twice the size of United States.The name of Antartica was coined to mean “opposite to the Arctic”. The climate of two areas is very different. Because of the climate is very different, the land animals and the plants also different.In the Antartica, there are very few plants such as mosses,lichens and algae,and then, there are populate of penguins in there. Arctic have many kinds of plants and the land animal in there such as foxes,bears,reindeer, and lemmings. Antartica also have great feature, it is called Ice. More than 4,5 million square miles of ice. Because of that, there is glaciers (great river of ice). If the great volume of ice were to melt,the volume of the world oceans would increase.
